Churchill Park United Church will host two weekends of dinner theatre. Theatre goers will experience great hospitility, excellent food and entertainment by the Churchill Park Players as they premiere Kicked by a Duck. This play is by Richard Baschak, a local playwright and CPUC member. The title is a Ukrainian expression suggesting you’ve fallen so low in life that you can literally be kicked by a duck. We meet Brian, a dedicated, award-winning teacher whose burnt out. He quits his job to fulfil a compelling need to reconnect with his art. Along the way he loses his wife and home and resorts to couch surfing. He’s also estranged from his father. Much of the action occurs at a soup kitchen where he volunteers and where you’ll meet a cast of characters who are there to help. Find out how Brian gets his life back together. When? Where?
